Elections and budget

Our submission focuses on Federal Government measures to prevent homelessness, invest in social and affordable housing, support a safe and sustainable aged care sector, deliver adequate income supports, address locational disadvantage, provide alcohol and other drug (AOD) services, and support young people to meaningfully engage in public matters that interest and affect them.

The pre-budget submission focuses on recommendations across three themes: strong and sustained prevention and early intervention investment for children, youth and families most in need; housing and homelessness and; COVID-19 recovery.

Our pre-budget submission focuses on the need for sufficient investment in the mental health system to ensure coverage for everyone’s level of need in the community, addressing housing affordability for those most vulnerable, and the need for adequate funding for evidence-based programs for vulnerable young people.

Our Pre-budget Submission focused on increasing investment to address homelessness, increasing income support payment base rate permanently, strengthening communities, young people’s mental health and the need to support community services by incorporating the existing rate of Equal Remuneration Order supplementation to funding contracts.
