Mission Australia’s Young people’s experiences of homelessness report released July 2020 reveals that 1 in 6 Youth Survey respondents had an experience of homelessness. The report compares those who have no experience of homelessness to those who have couch surfed and/or had an experience in transitional housing/living in a refuge.

Each year we encourage young people aged 15-19 to ‘speak up’ about the issues that concern them through Australia’s largest annual youth survey. Over 25,000 young people participated in 2019. This year, young people reported concerns relating to mental health, the environment, bullying and voice.
