ParentsNext aims to help you develop:
- Confidence to apply for and sustain long term employment
- Confidence to complete education and employment courses
- Improved financial awareness and budgeting
- Supportive and meaningful relationships with family and friends
- Improved quality of life through accessing clinical mental health and counselling services
- Confidence to independently access services, activities and community opportunities
- Improved strategies to find work life balance.
Eligibility criteria
Parents must participate in ParentsNext if they:
* have been receiving Parenting Payment continuously and not engaged in work in the last six months
* have a youngest child who is at least nine months and under six years of age
* are under 55 years of age; and
* are under 22 years of age and have not completed the final year of school or
*are 22 years of age or over; have not completed the final year of school; and have been receiving income support continuously for more than two years or
*have completed their final year of school and been receiving income support continuously for more than four years.
Any Parenting Payment recipient with a child under six can volunteer to participate in ParentsNext.

Through Services Australia or self-referrals for voluntary participants
