Apply to join Mission Australia's new Advisory Panel
The Mission Australia Advisory Panel will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Mission Australia services, strategic initiatives and outcomes.
The Mission Australia Advisory Panel will comprise of up to 12 people who are existing clients or tenants of Mission Australia or have been a client or tenant within the last two years.Members of the Advisory Panel will aim to reflect the diversity of clients and tenants across Mission Australia services nationally.
Members of the Mission Australia Advisory Panel will meet regularly throughout their term to provide advice to Mission Australia on issues that are important to people who use Mission Australia services. Panel members will be paid for their time to prepare for and attend meetings and any expenses to participate will be covered by Mission Australia.
About you
- Passionate about creating change and advocating for better outcomes
- Eager to share your ideas and views on issues impacting Australians
- Hoping to engage, learn and be involved in opportunities to improve Mission Australia
- Willing to participate in six meetings per year.
Applicants must meet the following eligibility*
- Live in Australia
- Currently engage with at least one Mission Australia service or have done so within the last two years.
As part of the Mission Australia Advisory Panel, you may:
- Engage in consultations with Mission Australia staff who want to hear your voice
- Potentially attend meetings with the Mission Australia CEO, executives and board
- Participate in small-group discussions about specific topics
- Become involved in the development of projects specific to your interests and/or lived experience
- Engage in online discussions by sharing your ideas and perspectives
- Participate in personal growth and development activities
- Meet with other members to brainstorm ideas and progress projects further
- Potentially have the opportunity to be involved in media for Mission Australia.
Application process
Applications close on 30 September 2024 at midnight.
Applications will be assessed by a panel and appointed by the Mission Australia CEO.
* At Mission Australia, we do run police checks for Panel members, but don’t worry—having a criminal record doesn’t automatically disqualify you from our process.
