Sally knew this wasn’t the life she wanted for her family, so she reached out to Mission Australia. Mandy wants every child to have the chance to thrive

Mandy feels fortunate she’s had strong role models to look up to throughout her life. As a young person, she was always reassured by the knowledge that she could always go home if things got tough. “Not everyone has that choice”, she acknowledges.

From a young age, Mandy’s grandmother instilled in her that she could ‘be whatever she set her mind to’ - wisdom she’s imparted on her 17-year-old daughter Sophie. Sophie is working to join the airforce as a pilot and wants a big family one day. Mandy couldn’t be prouder.

Thanks for helping Miles find a safe home in his twilight years

Five years ago Miles was one of the growing number of Australians over 55 experiencing homelessness. He was not in good health, and he needed compassionate care and the chance to grow old with dignity and comfort.

Amanda’s* a confident new mum, thanks to you

It’s tough being a young, new mum. Even with support, preparing for life with a new baby can be an anxious, scary time.

For Amanda it was even harder. At just 18-years-old, she was pregnant, struggling to manage Type 1 diabetes, and homeless. She knew she needed help to give her baby the best start to life.

Because of you, Mission Australia’s Youth Accommodation Support Service (YASS) was there with the wraparound care and support Amanda needed.

She found a stable home, received in-home medical care, and learned valuable parenting, financial, and life skills.

Thank you for helping empower this young mum to build a better life for her family.
