The Cooma & Region Homelessness Support Service operates across the Cooma Snowy Monaro region to provide a generalist homelessness support service. Our trained & qualified staff will provide tailored support, advocacy & outreach to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Our services include crisis and transitional accommodation. Our primary objective is to ensure people who are experiencing homelessness, or who are at risk of homelessness are supported to achieve safe and stable housing in the community. Mission Australia's Cooma and Region Homelessness Support Service offer a 24/7 crisis line and will respond to crisis situations for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness as a result of domestic and family violence.

Who we assist

Cooma & Region Homelessness Support Services are available to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including;
Single women and men aged 25 and over
Single young people over 16
Families including couples with or without children or other family groupings
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for help at Cooma & Region Homelessness Support Services, you must be homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Referral process

Referrals can be made directly to Mission Australia by health services, family members, self-referrals or other community organisations. Referrals can be submitted in one of three ways; by presenting in office, phoning 02 6452 3623 and speaking to a staff member or emailing referral to CoomaSHS@missionaustralia.com.au and a staff member will contact person requesting assistance to conduct intake and assessment process.
